The control of Moonscoop LLC is back in the hands of Mike and Liz Young, as the company welcomes co-CEO and partner Nicolas Atlan and rebrands into Splash Entertainment.
Mike and wife Liz are CEO and president respectively of the new US-based developer and producer of original animated television series. Atlan was formerly co-CEO and executive chairman at Moonscoop USA.
The trio, alongside JokeBox acting as a private passive investor, has regained 100% ownership of Moonscoop LLC.
Splash Entertainment will launch immediately with over 500 half hours of children's programming in its library, including Chloe's Closet and all titles previously held by Moonscoop LLC.
The announcement comes following a 2013 judicial recovery procedure against Moonscoop SA (France) and the sale last week of French assets to indie group Dargaud Media, which runs the production company Ellipsanime.
With this deal, Kabillion – the network and multimedia marketing platform that racks up more than six million views a month – will also be a part of Splash Entertainment.
"It has certainly been a challenging past several months and now with the legal and business issues behind us we are very happy to be getting back to the business at hand," commented Mike Young.
The company's goals for 2014 include a new season of Sabrina Secrets of a Teenage Witch, Master Blaster, It's Archie, based on the Archie Comics publications, and to reach close to 60 million cable households with Kabillion.
