TVE had a successful experience at NAPTE last week, selling the series Isabel and the reality TV format Entre Todos into the Latin American market.
In addition, its fiction catalogue has been sold to some video-on-demand (VOD) platforms operating in the region.
The Spanish public network, which led the country's producers under the Audiovisual From Spain brand at NAPTE, says the historical series Isabel was mainly purchased by Latin American networks and distributors. Most of these bought the show's second season, but some committed to the third season which is currently being filmed.
Entre Todos also created a stir among the Latin American channels. The programme consists of members of the public explaining their problems on air and then the audience tries to help them by offering money or other kinds of support. Channels from Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Panama and Colombia all showed interest in adapting the format.
TVE also sold most of its fiction catalogue to VOD platforms, which are growing among pay-TV operators pushed by services such as Netflix and Clarovideo.
Rafael Bardem, programmes sales manager at TVE, said NAPTE 2014 has been great for TVE, which has managed to consolidate some big projects in Latin America.
