Conecta, the Spanish association for pay-TV channels, has named Eduardo Zulueta, Chello Multicanal's CEO, as its new president.

Manuel Gil, CEO at Viacom International Media Networks Spain, has been appointed as vice president.

The association started in 2007 and represents the main producers of Spain's themed channels, including the big international groups. Conecta gathers 29 channels from FOX International Channels Iberia, Sony Pictures Television Networks Iberia, The History Channel Iberia, The Walt Disney Company, Turner Time Warner, Universal Networks International and Viacom International Media Networks.

The group aims to spread the Spanish pay-TV business and contribute to the industry's development, by publishing business-related news and reports. Conecta's main objective is to build a bridge between the advertising market and Spain's pay-TV companies.
