blinkx offers curated channel for Winter Olympics
Parent Category:| 08-02-2014
As the games opened in spectacular fashion in Sochi, the Winter Olympics has been given a dedicated channel by the blinkx internet media platform.
Explaining its rationale for launch, blinkx says that with more competitions occurring simultaneously than ever before, many viewers will be turning this year to the Internet to find the most interesting sports and entertainment clips from the games.
Moreover, it says that during the 2012 Summer Olympics, it saw an increase in both traffic and advertising spend during the two week period, as sports fans and advertisers turned to online video for highlights and lowlights of the summer games. The company promises that for the 2014 Winter Olympics it will provide an even better viewing environment for easy-access to all the breaking news from the games.
To address this demand, the Winter Games Channel will be offering what blinkx calls the most news-worthy clips of each day, with what it says will be “the memorable moments or pulse-pounding evens that define the 2014 games.”
