FesTVal targets international TV productions

This year's FesTVal in Spain is planning to broaden its programme and target international TV producers for fiction and entertainment.
FesTVal, which will take place in September and is one of the largest TV festivals in Spain, intends to draw a picture of the TV production industry worldwide.
No international premieres have been unveiled as yet, but the festival will exclusively air some international series and shows, as it has been doing with Spanish productions at past events. In addition, FesTVal 2014 will offer conferences and workshops related to the international industry as well as taking a wider look at TV's new and young talent.
The audiovisual event, which is held in Vitoria-Gasteiz, will also add new sections to its programme. Following the recent boom in cooking and reality shows, the festival will create Gastrovisión, a parallel event targeting TV cuisine shows.
FesTVal continues to grow after five years and, according to the organisation's board, quoting Kantar Media data, the 2013 edition generated €8 million through the media, 60% more than in 2012. Spain's leading TV companies participated in the event last September, in which some of the country's most watched series were premiered, generating great audience demand.
