Two students from Zambia and Ghana, Francine Mazala and Lloyd Ossei Baffour, have won the essay prize and poster prize respectively in the DStv Eutelsat Star Awards.

MultiChoice and Eutelsat have been collaborating for three years on this pan-African student competition which aims to promote interest in space technology among the young population.

Of 1,000 entries from 19 countries, this year's DStv Eutelsat Star Award winner in the essay category, Francine Mazala, won a trip to Paris and then to a launch site to witness a rocket launch into space.

In the poster category, Lloyd Ossei Baffour will visit Eutelsat in Paris.

The four winning schools attended by the award winners and runners-up were also awarded with a DStv installation, including dish, television, state-of-the-art PVR decoder and free access to the DStv Education Bouquet.
