Veria Living appoints Jost as content distribution chief

Multiplatform network Veria Living has appointed Douglas Jost as director of content distribution and marketing.

Most recently Jost was co-founder of Bright Educational Media in Texas, a start-up that launched last year as a multi-platform network centred on live action, learning and education-themed content. He was responsible for overseeing the company and implementing both the linear and video-on-demand (VOD) offerings designed to reach preschool and elementary school-aged children and their families. Under his watch, the company executed its first distribution agreement with a national multichannel video carrier.

"We're very pleased to have Doug join our content distribution team," said Tim Boell, senior vice president of content distribution and marketing at Veria Living. "At each company in his career he's taken on added responsibilities and generated additional carriage opportunities while increasing overall corporate revenues."

Jost was also co-founder and executive vice president of affiliate sales and marketing for Mav'rick Entertainment Network, which launched in 43 million pay television households, acquiring nearly six million subscribers.

Previous to that, Jost served as vice president and general manager for the south central region at Showtime Networks, where he led affiliate sales and marketing for premium television channels Showtime, the Movie Channel, Flix and Sundance Channel as general manager over one of five operating regions across the country.
