Brazil, Canada, UK win second International Emmy Kids Awards

Programmes from Brazil, Canada and the United Kingdom were the winners in the 2nd International Emmy Kids Awards announced by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in New York last night (10 February).

The winning formats were the series Pedro & Bianca (TV cultura), the non-scripted entertainment show Pet School (Cineflix), the preschool series Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom (Astley Baker Davies Ltd), the factual programme Same But Different (Libra Television/David & Goliath), the animated series Room on the Broom (Magic Light Pictures) and the TV movie The Phantoms (Dream Street Pictures Inc).

The Emmy statues were presented on stage by a cast including Canadian actor Demetrius Joyette, Swedish and Danish kids' TV presenters Malin Olsson and Christian Volfing, German pre-school character Die Maus from The Show with The Mouse, Sesame Street's Allison Bartlett and Broadway actress and singer Lesli Margherita.

The partners of the event were Shaw Rocket Fund, Hasbro Studios, SVT/DRTV, TV Kids, WDR mediagroup and Ernst & Young.
