The French Competition Authority has given the green light for Canal+ Overseas' purchase of 51% of Mediaserv in the French overseas territories.
The deal was concluded in June 2013 but was pending official confirmation, and will now be finalised in the coming days, according to Canal+.
The Canal+ subsidiary, in the overseas territories and in Africa, will then replace the Loret group as the majority shareholder of the first high speed broadband operator in Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guyana and Réunion.
By taking over Mediaserv, Canal+ Overseas strengthens its development and diversification activities in overseas territories.
The company has already announced that it will launch new innovative broadband and TV offers in order to recruit new consumers.
