K-1 taps Fighting Spirit in two-year media rights deal

Kickboxing brand K-1 and combat sports TV show distributor Fighting Spirit have signed a two-year global media rights deal.
K-1 owner, Mr Kim, said: “This distribution deal brings K-1 the right partner to be back at the right position - as the market leader.”
Fighting Spirit CEO, Mr Pourrut, added: “We are proud to represent the iconic K-1 brand; we will give K-1 the spot they deserve thanks to our experience and network.”
Since it was founded in 1993 K-1 has held 400 live events around the world, broadcast in more than 150 countries. Fighters include Badr Hari, Buakaw Banchamek (formerly Por. Pramuk), Andy Souwer, Giorgio Petrosyan, Mirko “Crocop” Filipovic, Alistair Overeem, Semmy Schilt and Andy Hug.
Fighting Spirit and K-1 aim to show the 2014 season of K-1 kickboxing on some of the biggest TV channels worldwide, with shows currently scheduled in the US, Europe and China.
