UK-based TV broadcaster 360 Music Television Ltd has taken over German music channel iM1. The new owner, which operates music channels such as Starz, Channel U, Channel AKA, Lava and Greatest Hits in the UK, wants to revamp iM1 to target a younger audience and provide more viewer interaction.

iM1 will in future target the 14 to 29-year-old age group and involve viewers more in its programmes, for example through an interactive live text chat with the show hosts, which will be introduced soon. The free-to-air channel will continue to broadcast via cable, satellite, IPTV and internet, for example on Astra (19.2° East), on the cable networks of Unitymedia, Kabel BW, Tele Columbus and PrimaCom, at Eutelsat's KabelKiosk, at Deutsche Telekom's Entertain and as a live stream at Zattoo and on its own website (www.im1.tv).

In total, iM1 reaches more than 32 million people this way. Furthermore, 360 Music Television wants to launch new music channels in Germany in the next months in order to be able to address different target groups as a channel family.
