Both apps are free from the Windows Phone Store and Windows Store.

The Windows Phone 8 app has already registered 55,000 downloads in less than two months.

The apps provide the latest news features on international, economic, cultural and scientific topics as well as video-on-demand (VOD) magazines. They are accessible worldwide and offer a choice of 11 languages.

In the coming months, both apps will offer more programmes and features including live streams, news quizzes, bookmarks for favourite news stories and a search engine.

Two other languages, Arabic and Persian, will also be added.
