Calimero brings strong audiences to TFou

The new TF1 CGI animated series Calimero has achieved audience growth during its third broadcast weekend during TF1's children's block TFou.

Since its launch on 9 February, Gaumont Animation's production has achieved an average audience share over three Sundays of 35.8%, among kids aged four to ten.

These Médiamétrie results are confirmed on TF1's digital media where, Calimero ranked as the third favourite hero on in just two weeks, according to the broadcaster.

Calimero tells about the adventures of a loveable little black chicken that was initially created in 1963 by Nino Pagot, Toni Pagot and Ignazio Colnaghi and became an international hit with 290 episodes of animation aired in over 80 countries.

In addition to TF1, the new CGI adaptation is set to air on Italy's Rai, Germany's Super RTL, Disney Junior, TV Tokyo, Tele Quebec and TSR in Switzerland.

Gaumont Animation coproduced the series with Calidra, the rights owner, Italy's Studio Campedelli and Japanese partners TV Tokyo and Kodansha.

International distribution is handled by Gaumont Animation managing as well the brand internationally, excluding Asia, on behalf of Calidra.
