Verizon FiOS adds complete TV series to buy on-demand

Verizon Communications has widened its on-demand proposition with a decision to offer complete TV seasons through a multiplatform electronic sell-through (EST) service for its FiOS TV offering.

The move challenges arch-rival Comcast, which launched an EST strategy last November. Verizon had been offering individual TV shows for rent and purchase through its Flex View service, but the expansion is a big one: FiOS customers will be able to purchase current and past seasons from more than 140 TV series, including Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Castle, Boardwalk Empire and Lost.
