Swiss media company AZ Medien will launch its new TV channel TV24 on 12 May 2014.

The channel, which was unveiled in December 2013, will be carried by Switzerland's largest cable operator UPC Cablecom and also by smaller cable companies. It will be available in HD quality from the start.

According to AZ Medien, TV24 will offer a general interest service with news, original productions, music, documentaries, series and movies. The company already operates Swiss TV channels TeleZüri, Tele M1 and TeleBärn.
