UK satellite platform BSkyB is launching its first Asian TV package this month to rival Virgin Media's Asian Mela offering.

Sky Asia Pack will cost 15 per month on top of the 21 cost of a basic subscription to the platform, and includes Zee TV, Zee Cinema, Zee Punjabi, Sony Entertainment Asia, Sony Max, ARY Digital and B4U Movies.

The 21st Century Fox owned Star TV channels are currently part of Sky's entertainment package, so also available to subscribers, while Viacom18 channels Colors and Rishtey are broadcast free-to-air.

Subscribers to Zee Network's own package, which launched in the UK in 1994, and Sony Entertainment's ViewAsia pack will now be migrated to the new Sky Asia pack ahead of their closure.
