Middle East free-to-air network MBC, Iran's state TV station IRIB, Yumurcak TV in Turkey and Prime Media in Kazakhstan have all signed new licences for children's TV programming from DHX Media.

MBC Group has acquired shows including The Zack Files for its MBC3 channel, with Caillou (season five) and Ella the Elephant going to Yumurcak TV. Arthur has been sold to IRIB, and In the Night Garden will now air on Prime Media.

"The central and eastern Europe, Middle East and Turkish regions are burgeoning markets for our programming, particularly in preschool animation which is proving to be consistently popular," said Sophie Prigent, DHX territory manager.

"We're maintaining strong relationships with the major broadcasters, as well as signing an increasing number of deals with new (video on-demand) platforms, a trend we expect to continue."

The Canadian content creator, producer and distributor has also recently concluded licensing deals with Chellomedia Central Europe, Croatia's RTL Kockika, and Polish video on-demand channel Onet.
