Orange CEO Stéphane Richard confirmed on 7 March on Radio Classique that the video streaming service Netflix plans to launch in France in the autumn and has been in touch with telecoms operators.

But, according to Orange, the launch conditions are still unclear.

"We don't know yet what model it wants to apply," Richard said, adding that he couldn't say whether Orange would collaborate with Netflix as it is unclear whether or not the company will stream content to customers through the operators' set-top boxes – as it does in the US.

He said that Orange would not collaborate with the US company without being assured that things have been settled with the French Government concerning operations from France or from abroad, investment in creation and fiscal optimisation.
