Leading MENA pay-TV firm beIN SPORTS has made a significant investment in Pace set-top box (STB) and server technology as it upgrades its CE estate.
The UK broadcast technology and services company will be one of the suppliers for the beIN network’s next generation of home media servers and HD STB products. The upgrade is designed to improve the quality of experience for those customers subscribing to premium offerings which will show content such as the leading football tournaments including the 2014 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League, Europa League, AFC Champions League, English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1.
“Pace’s Home Media Server and HD STB allow us to provide our customers with our latest TV services to every screen within their homes,” explained Roger Hall, managing director of beIN (MENA). “The Home Media Server gives us a flexible platform to add multiscreen TV applications and services to further cement our position as the leading pay-TV provider in the region.”
Pace will be providing two products to beIN SPORTS prior to the World Cup: the DMS7000NBS Home Media Server set-top box, in what will be a first deployment for the MENA region; and the DZS3000NBS high definition set-top box, which is claimed to deliver a responsive user experience providing rapid access to beIN SPORTS content and services.
