Indian direct-to-home (DTH) provider Tata Sky has introduced three news channels – Kanak TV, Zee Kalinga and MBC TV – for viewers in Odisha to strengthen its regional package during election season.
The 24-hour Zee Kalinga news channel promises election analysis, live discussion programmes and current affairs, while Kanak TV and MBC TV provide subscribers with both regional and national news.
"Expanding our offering with the three news channels is a part of our endeavour to increase our spread of channels across all genres for our Odia subscribers. One of the largest states in the East and an important market for digitisation, Odisha has been witnessing positive digital growth over the last few months," said Vikram Mehra, chief commercial officer, Tata Sky.
In addition to the new Odia channels, Tata Sky also offers ten Bengali and 20 Telugu channels.
