Broadcast services provider Globecast Australia has launched a new over-the-top (OTT) Internet streaming service.
The consolidated OTT service will run alongside Globecast's existing direct-to-home (DTH), satellite news-gathering (SNG) and fibre distribution services. Globestream is available for full-time channels or ad-hoc, and provides customers with the option to live stream or deliver video-on-demand (VOD).
"For many years leading media organisations have trusted Globecast Australia to deliver their content via satellite and fibre. We see IP delivery as a natural evolution to our existing services and I am delighted to continue to offer our clients cutting-edge technology and an even greater variety of content delivery solutions," said Simon Farnsworth, CEO, Globecast Australia
Paul Suters, director of engineering & operations, Globecast Australia, added: "While we continue to innovate, Globecast Australia maintains its commitment to service quality. Our new Globestream service leverages many of our existing areas of expertise."
