Viasat ExploreModern Times Group (MTG) has announced the rebranding of multiple pay-TV channels, starting on Monday, April 29.

It will see all factual and TV1000 movie channels get a new look and feel across four continents.

According to the company, all rebranded channels will get a new logo, benefit from a new on-air package and off-air identity. The new logos and look have been optimised to look good on any device to support multi-screen viewing on all TV Everywhere services.

The channels that will be rebranded are the factual channels Viasat Explore (known until now as Viasat Explorer), Viasat History, Viasat Nature and Viasat Crime, as well as the movie channels TV1000, TV1000 Action and TV1000 Kino.

Commenting on the rebranding, Karin Heijink, VP of Pay-TV East of MTG, said: “We have invested in stronger content and offer more exclusive European premieres than ever before on our channels. The new, exciting look and feel reflects the new channel identities and the high quality new programme line-up.

At the same time more and more viewers are enjoying our stories on mobile devices and the rebrand was a natural step to improve the viewing experience everywhere.

“Our portfolio of factual and movie channels tell the best and most engaging stories in scripted and non-scripted entertainment and have become must-have channels for platform operators worldwide.”

In addition to its leading position in the four Nordic countries, MTG makes 34 of its Viasat standard and HD pay-TV channels available via its own DTH satellite platforms and third party networks to subscribers in 32 countries across Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and the US.

The channels attract a total of over 92 million subscriptions.
