FilmFlex, the movie service traditionally associated with UK cable, has signed a multiyear deal with TalkTalk.

New releases can be rented for 48 hours with titles available on the same date as their DVD release. It’s planned to later add the ability for TalkTalk customers to watch their rentals on a range of devices including mobile phones and tablets.

Jeff Henry, Chief Executive Officer at FilmFlex said: “This landmark deal enhances our position as the white-label provider of choice to the leading media and telecoms brands in the UK. We work with ambitious, growing companies like TalkTalk to bring the latest movies to the widest possible audience. The key factors in our success to date have been our strong relationships with our brand partners and content owners coupled with our continued investment in our technical platform.”

The launch of YouView has transformed the fortunes of TalkTalk’s TV business. 730,000 customers have been added in just over 12 months.
