HD+HD+, the fee-based platform with the HD versions of commercial free-to-air channels for German DTH satellite households on Astra (19.2° East), has increased its customer number to 1.5 million on March 31, 2014.
This corresponds with a growth by 392,614 customers within one year (March 31, 2013: 1.1 million customers). In Q1 2014, 83,761 new customers were added. The growth has, thus, been slower than in Q1 2013 when HD+ acquired 158,768 new customers.
An additional 1.2 million households use HD+ in the free trial period. They will decide within the next 12 months whether they want to continue receiving the encrypted package for a subscription fee.
The platform operated by Astra satellite operator SES now contains a total of 20 channels. The latest additions were RTL Nitro HD, ProSieben Maxx HD, n-tv HD and TLC HD in mid-April 2014.
