Nova DigiThe DTH platform DIGI Slovakia, which was bought by Slovak Telekom from RCS&RDS last year for an undisclosed fee, has been re-launched as Nová DIGI.

In a press conference and statement accompanying the re-launch, it was announced that the new platform will use the latest technology – DVB-S2 and MPEG-4 – and offer viewers both HD and SD channels, and EPG and a “fundamentally new set-top box”.

The service will use three transponders on Thor and Intelsat, located at one degree West and effectively employ the same satellite platform as Slovak Telekom, according to Marcel Satanek, CEO of DIGI Slovakia.

However, Nová DIGI will operate as a separate service to Slovak Telekom’s own DTH platform.

Its standard package, consisting of 65 channels, will cost viewers €9.60 a month and maxi package, with 85 channels, €12.90 a month.

Additional packages provided will be Extra HU (16 Hungarian channels for €1.30 a month), Extra Sport HD (three channels for €2 a month) and Extra HBO (three channels for €6 a month).
