The last mile owners (LMOs) of India's vast cable TV network are forming a national body to be unveiled at the forthcoming industry exhibition in Hyderabad.

Six state cable TV associations from West Bengal, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh have already come together to be a part of the new LMO association, reports online publication Indian Television.

"LMOs at the grass root level have never been taken into consideration. A pan-India platform will give us proper representation and power. It will also help us take our views to the government," Arvind Prabhoo, president, Maharashtra Cable Operators Federation (MCOF), is quoted as saying.

The move follows in the footsteps of the existing pan-India groups: the MSO Alliance, the DTH Operators Association of India and the Indian Broadcasting Foundation.
