The Spanish Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has awarded Video Stream Network (VSN) the Iris Technology Prize 2013.

The Academy wanted to recognise the company's "work on the development of television thanks to its wide catalogue of products sold in four continents".

The organisation, which comprises the main Spanish TV operators and the majority of Spanish audiovisual professionals, recognised the role of the Barcelona-based company in developing the broadcast sector in Spain and Europe.

The Academy's board of directors, headed by Manuel Campo Vidal, highlighted VSNīs "contribution to the development of television in general and, in particular, in Spain, thanks to its complete suite of products for television companies," that have been sold in more than 80 countries in the last 20 years.

The Iris Prizes 2013 will be delivered during a ceremony held in Madrid on 10 June.
