Argentina's free-to-air TV is to broadcast the World Cup on mobile devices. On 7 June, TV Pública will launch an app for iOS, Android and Windows phones through which it will air half of the World Cup matches.
The public channel has live broadcasting rights for 32 games, which will also be streamed live via the app.
According to the public news agency Telam, the app will also give access to the channel's media library with more than 86,000 videos on-demand, live statistics before and after the match, and an interactive social TV platform. The streaming will be available in HD, depending on the user's mobile data capacity.
The DTT signal and online channel DeporTV is also about to launch its own free app through which it will offer all 64 World Cup matches. In addition to the games, all the football-related programming will be live available during the championship.
DeporTV is planning to launch the app in the coming weeks together with a new version of its website.
