Samsung 4K displaySamsung has teamed up with its Polish partners INSYS, Strefa VOD and Kino Swiat, the largest Polish movie distributor, to launch a 4K app unique in Europe.

Known as Strefa VOD UHD, it is solely available on Samsungís 2014 UHD smart TVs in the Polish market and makes it possible to watch movies on demand in Ultra HD resolution and quality (3840◊2160), with an internet connection of at least 20 Mbps.

Poland is the first country in Europe and indeed one of the first in the world to have such a local app, offering premium movies on demand in 4K.

So far, they have only been available through global applications, which selectively entered a few European markets and avoided Poland.

Stefa VOD UHDís movie collection will be available until May 31, 2015, with its database containing 12 movies at launch.

Strefa VOD is a legal, state-of-the-art on-line movie rental service, while Kino Swiat is an independent distributor, involved in movie distribution in all fields of exploitation.

INSYS is a leader in Polandís online video industry.
