The Delhi High Court has issued an injunction preventing around 400 unauthorised websites from broadcasting FIFA World Cup matches, following a complaint from rights holder Multi Screen Media (MSM).

MSM, which operates Sony in India, is broadcasting live football action from Brazil via Sony Six across India. Its digital platform also has the exclusive local rights provide online video streaming from the World Cup.

The vacation bench of Justice V Kameswar Rao has directed the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunication to ensure the court order is implemented.
