International productions and national blockbusters will be at the centre of Atresmedia's Neox and Nova, the two channels which it's hoped will draw audiences after Spain's DTT blackout during which the group lost three channels.

Over the last two months, Neox's audience has been on the increase and the series channel has consolidated its position with a 2.9% share on average. Mostly thanks to American productions such as The Walking Dead, which gained a 3.5% share during its fourth season, Neox has become strong, especially among the younger audience.

So Atresmedia is delving further into international productions for Neox. The fifth season of The Walking Dead will air immediately after the US premier and the third season of Game of Thrones will be free-to-air broadcast on Neox instead of laSexta, where the first and second seasons were broadcast.

Animation series such as American Dad, Family Guy and The Simpsons and sitcoms like How I Met your Mother and Modern Family will complete Neox's new line-up.

Nova has become another strong channel among the DTT secondary signals in Spain, reaching 2.6% share during recent months. The channel will continue targeting soap opera fans with national and international productions, with the premier of Downton Abbey's new season being the star of the new line-up.

Atresmedia will also reinforce the presence of docurealities on Nova, the kind of programme which used to broadcast on Xplora, one of the cancelled channels. Pesadilla en la Cocina and Bricomanía will take up important positions in next season's Nova.
