While World Cup broadcasting is gaining attention through the use of the latest technologies, other events are also being used to try out the new standards, the coronation of Spain's new king being one of them.

Sony was used to provide 4K filming for TVE's audiovisual archive. The Spanish public network used two Sony PMW-F55 cameras to capture the highlights of the ceremony. Although the 4K pieces can't be currently broadcast, TVE will store them for future use.

Sony's cameras were equipped with Xeltec's Fujinon Cabrio lenses and Elenco technology, thanks to which TVE recorded the ceremony on eight million Mpx.

"Recording this historical event in 4K is another milestone in Sony's impulse to UltraHD production," said Sony in an official release. "Thanks to the PMW-F55 cameras, the videos will be incredibly realistic, with a high quality and colour perception."
