InCoax joins MoCA
Networking equipment provider InCoax Networks has joined MoCA as a contributor member.
InCoax Networks uses the free capacity in existing in-building coaxial cables to enable high-speed Internet access, IPTV, VoIP and Web TV services without the need to pull new cables. Its products deliver over 100Mbps home access networking technologies to telecom and broadband service providers.
"Our involvement with MoCA will help us to deliver even more advanced networking technologies to our service provider customers based on the MoCA standard," said Helge Tiainen, senior product manager at InCoax Networks.
The MoCA 2.0 standard enables multiscreen connected home offerings, supporting multiple streams of content — including HDTV, 3D, gaming and over-the-top content (OTT) — via an IP-over-coax connection to numerous in-home devices, including TVs, game consoles and PCs.
Added Charles Cerino, MoCA president: "InCoax Networks' membership is a great example of the growing international demand for MoCA technology. We welcome them to the Alliance and look forward to furthering the deployment of MoCA technology in regions such as Europe and the Asia Pacific, where InCoax has a strong customer base."
