HBO's Game of Thrones is to be shot in Spain, where the new season's kingdom will be recreated.
The long-awaited announcement was finally made in an unusual way, through the US' Ambassador in Spain, James Costos.
Social network activity exploded this morning as soon as the news was confirmed. The filming is to be in Andalusia, Southern Spain, and Granada, Seville or Cordoba will probably be representing the capital of the series' new kingdom.
The series' executive producers D B Weiss and David Benioff have also confirmed the city of Dorne will appear in the TV version of the Georg RR Martin's saga.
For the last two months, rumours about the successful HBO series heading to Spain were spreading through the fan communities. Now it has been finally confirmed by Costos during an event hosted by the Spanish organisation Nueva Economía.
