UltraHD technology production is arriving in Argentina with the news that from August Samsung is to manufacture 4K and smart TVs at a centre in Tierra del Fuego, in the south of the country.

According to Telam, production will be controlled by two teams from the factories of Digital Fueguina and Electro Fueguina. "Firstly, 50" UltraHD screens and 55" smart TV 3D screens will be the models produced," explained the company. "But in future other devices will be included in the Argentinean portfolio."

Samsung, which is already commercialising some 4K screens in the country, will be the first company producing UltraHD technology in Argentina. By the end of 2014, the South Korean firm will start manufacturing other 4K screens through the Newsan group, also located in Argentina.

The company intends to produce locally in order to accelerate the adoption of the new technology in the country. "By introducing a larger variety of UltraHD devices, customers will have a larger catalogue to choose from," added the company.
