Spanish production and distribution company Imira Entertainment has signed a deal with Telefónica to launch several of its children's and youth series on the Movistar TV video-on-demand (VOD) platform.
The deal sees Lola & Virginia (52x12'), season two of Larva (52x4') and Vitaminix (104x2') launch on the platform this summer, along with the first season of Lucky Fred (52x12'), starring Fred, his robot Friday and secret agent Brains.
The series are now available to Movistar TV subscribers through the platform on computers, tablets and smartphones.
Sergi Reitg, CEO of Imira Entertainment, commented: "Imira Entertainment is committed to catering for new opportunities opening up with non-traditional platforms, and this deal with Telefónica represents the buying potential of these new platforms. Our original series, which have sold internationally, have a common vibrant and engaging quality which means they are a natural fit for accessible kids' entertainment providers seeking proven content."
