Envivio launches software-as-a-service video solution

Claiming to have the world's most advanced end-to-end cloud-based solution for managing video from acquisition to consumer on any screen, Envivio has launched Nuage.

The new software-as-a-service (SaaS) video solution is designed to manage content for video service and content providers from content acquisition to the consumer on any screen. It supports live linear and on-demand video, and operates as a service on private, operator-owned networks, on the public cloud or in hybrid environments. The SaaS solution is built on the cloud-based solution set of Envivio offerings for video processing, delivery and personalisation, including the Muse, Halo and Guru software products for video processing, encryption, packaging, storage, distribution and network management.

Envivio is confident that the expansion of its portfolio allows it to offer a virtualised video solution in a service providers' privately owned cloud, a public cloud, or a combination of both. The result, it believes, will give operators the flexibility they need to launch or scale multiscreen video services using the efficiencies and elasticity of the cloud, with fast time-to-market, seamless end-to-end integration, and employing a pay-as-you-grow OPEX model. "With Nuage, we can enable the next Netflix or ESPN.com in 30 days or less," said Envivio's VP strategy and corporate development, Arnaud Perrier.
