Jornadas Internacionales to focus on pay-TV convergence

How multiple broadcasting technologies are affecting the future of traditional pay-TV is just one of the topics that will be discussed at Argentina's Jornadas Internacionales, to be held in Buenos Aires by the Asociación Argentina de Televisión por Cable (ATVC) from 17 to 19 September.

The ATVC has confirmed the programme, which will focus on the industry's future in a changing market.

“The workshops and conferences will be related to new technologies, and the roundtables will be centred on markets, growing strategies and investments, and the regulations for convergent services in different markets, including the presence of experts from Mexico and Spain,” explained Walter Burzaco, ATVC's president.

The first conferences confirmed by the cable association are to be held during the first two days, with the last day's programme still to be unveiled.

The first conference at the event will focus on the convergence of different telecom services and how different countries face this diversity. Different ways of approaching the regulations in Argentina, Mexico and Spain will be compared during the conference.

The second confirmed activity will be analysing the future of the cable industry, looking into the growing possibilities and the new services and strategies that are being developed by the platforms. The third conference will be discussing the cable industry's role in a country's economy, taking into account the innovation and technological development.
