Comigo's over-the-top (OTT) multiscreen platform is to power the new UltraViolet digital video streaming service from NeuMovie.

NeuMovie Connect will provide a personalised, social and interactive customer experience as a result, according to the companies. The US electronic sell-through (EST) and video-on-demand (VOD) service is being offered through non-traditional home entertainment retailers such as pharmacies, convenience stories, grocers and e-tailers.

"Consumers today have many different choices when it comes to OTT multiscreen services. In order to provide a unique streaming experience, we need a platform that supports multiple devices, personalised VOD recommendations, and e-commerce," said Israel Baron, CEO, NeuMovie.

"Comigo's solution not only enables instant playback of UltraViolet content on any screen, it transforms the video user experience by intelligently integrating digital video services with social interactive capabilities and tangible retail merchandise offers."

Through it, NeuMovie can provide retail partners with movie credit products to drive the digital sales of movies and TV shows. Consumers, meanwhile, can access thousands of premium movies through NeuMovie Connect via Comigo's Android set-top box.
