Clarovideo hits 10MN monthly plays in Colombia

While increasing its video-on-demand (VOD) catalogue for Latin America, América Móvil's streaming service Clarovideo is consolidating its position in some countries in the region, and in Colombia over ten million films or series are now watched on a monthly basis.
clarovideoStarting with around 12,000 titles in its library, Clarovideo Colombia now has over 23,000 different pieces of content, with films, series, documentaries and kids programming. "We have counted more than ten million events watched a month, most of them series and content for children," explained David Londoño from Claro Colombia, during an interview with El Tiempo.
The over-the-top (OTT) platform enables users to watch 70% of its content with a regular subscription, while the rest is considered premium and has a higher price. Inside its premium section Clarovideo has recently offered films available on-demand just three or four weeks after their cinema premieres.
The platform subscription costs around $5.5 per month, which also gives access for smartphones, tablets and Samsung and LG smart TVs. In Colombia, billing can be carried out through Claro's mobile service and be included in the phone invoice.
"Our main goal is make it easier for everybody to have access to the content, including recommendations adapted to the consumer's preferences," added Londoño.
