Weeks after RTL Group completed the acquisition of a 65% stake in the company, SpotXchange has unveiled that it is ramping up expansion throughout Europe.

The first parts of the growth are partnerships with other RTL subsidiaries such as IP Deutschland's Netzathleten Media and RTL Nederland's Videostrip.

The former will comprise a strategic platform partnership whereby Netzathleten Media will rely exclusively on SpotXchange's supply-side technology to connect and control the video inventory of the publishers bundled in ten content networks. An integration will give publishers a central overview of the marketed video and display inventory in the future. The two partners also intend to cooperate closely on developing video advertising to create additional revenue opportunities and cater to the particular appetite and needs of content networks.

RTL Nederland's Videostrip, the leading online video advertising network in the Netherlands, will connect its proprietary Admatcher technology with the supply side technology from SpotXchange to further enhance yield for their publishers. The move is seen as a way in which to tap into a Dutch market which is increasingly adopting programmatic video solutions to access available inventory at scale.

Commenting on the moves, SpotXchange CEO Michael Shehan said: "RTL Group's investment in SpotXchange represents a huge opportunity to accelerate our growth, particularly in Europe, and further advance our goal of becoming the leading comprehensive video advertising monetisation platform across desktop, mobile and connected TV for premium publishers worldwide. We are integrating our programmatic trading, ad serving and yield optimisation technologies with RTL Group's leading European broadcast companies and top tier global content producers beginning with RTL Nederland and IP Deutschland's Netzathleten Media."
