MIPCOM 2014: Intruders tops BBC Worldwide portfolio

Preparing for one of the largest events in the production world, BBC Worldwide has presented its portfolio for MIPCOM 2014, taking place in Cannes from 13-16 October.

bbcintrudersThe catalogue of the BBC's international division will be led by Intruders, a new production for BBC America which has seen one season with eight 45-minute episodes. Written by X Files' Glen Morgan and based on a novel by Michael Marshall Smith, the series, which is about a secret group looking for immortality, stars John Simm and Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino.

Another essential piece of the portfolio is the eighth season of Doctor Who, a production well-known internationally, which takes the time-traveller team to Victorian London, Sherwood Forest in search of Robin Hood, and the Orient Express.

The fiction catalogue is completed by The Honourable Woman, a Drama Republic and Eight Rooks productions for BBC and Sundance TV.

In the documentaries section, BBC Worldwide will present the Discovery Channel and France Televisions' co-production Life Story; the human history series Human Universe, co-produced with Science Channel; and How To Build a Planet, also a Science Channel co-production which explains how a world is created in the Universe.

The BBC will be also bringing to MIPCOM other productions such as Katherine Mills: Mind Games; Rachel Khoo's Kitchen Notebook; Junior Doctors USA; Tumble; and comedies including Alan Carr Chatty Man and Friday Night Dinner.
