Fox Sports has acquired the rights to broadcast The Championships tennis from Wimbledon across Asia for a further six years, from 2015 until 2020.

The exclusive television deal with the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club (AELTC) will see the Fox International Channels' sports network provide all the action for two weeks each summer, across Asian cable, satellite and terrestrial TV networks. In addition to English, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand will also be able to access commentary in Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, Cantonese, Mandarin and Thai respectively.

"We are pleased to continue our strong relationship with the AELTC as we build on the strength of Wimbledon and offer our fans the best in grand slam tennis," said Zubin Gandevia, president of Asia Pacific and Middle East at Fox International Channels.

Mick Desmond, commercial director, AELTC, added: "We are delighted to build on our strong partnership with Fox Sports for a further six years. Delivering live output across all platforms of all the action, plus telling the Wimbledon narrative to a growing pan-Asian audience is a high priority for The Championships."

Fox Sports already has rights to show the French Open and Australian Open grand slam tennis tournaments.

In addition to the fortnight's live action, tennis fans will also be able watch online and on-demand on Fox Sports Play at or via the iOS and Android apps. Subscribers to Fox Sports Mobile may also follow the live action streamed to their mobile phones. Extensive highlights are also available on the 24/7 sports news channel, Fox Sports News.
