The Canal+ premium pay-TV network is to air the long-awaited Gotham series for Spanish audiences on 23 September, only a day after its US premiere on FOX.
gothamThe series, which is about the daily life of detective Jim Gordon on its way to become Batman's Commissioner Gordon, will air the original version with subtitles, a format already used by Canal+ during last season in order to air the series before the translated version, which has traditionally been the only one broadcast in Spain.
Looking to solve the crimes in a very corrupt city, detective Gordon -starring Bob Kane- presents the city of Gotham before Batman's times together with his colleague Harvey Bullock, starred in by Donal Logue (known for Sons of Anarchy or Vikings, among others).
Gotham has become one of the most awaited series of the Autumn season, having been awarded during the Critics' Choice Awards as the most exciting new series.
The FOX production has been developed by Bruno Heller -who achieved success with Rome and The Mentalist- and the pilot episode has been directed by Danny Cannon, from CSI and Nikita. The series is airing in FOX and will air on the Spanish pay-TV network one day after.
