Scripps Networks Interactive has contracted the Orange-owned Globecast to manage its distribution and playout services across its Asia-Pacific lifestyle channels.

The US media company, which owns and operates Asian Food Channel, Food Network, Travel Channel and the soon-to-launch HGTV, will also rely on Globecast for content preparation and some post production services for its Asian networks.

The pay-TV channels will be carried on Malaysia's MEASAT-3 satellite, and have access to Globecast's Media Factory in Singapore.

"We selected Globecast to manage our distribution and playout services due to its wide range of services as well as its geographical proximity to our offices," said Derek Chang, managing director, Scripps Networks Asia Pacific.

Darby Sanchez, CEO, Globecast Asia, added: "We are delighted that we will be working with Scripps Networks in Asia-Pacific for both playout and distribution services, providing a real value add for the broadcaster." inShare0
