MultiChoice adds Viacom family channels to DStv bouquet

DStv viewers in sub-Saharan Africa will be able to watch three more channels from Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa from 30 September.

Two 24-hour children's channels Nick Jr. and Nicktoons, along with the family entertainment channel BET International, will join VIMN cannels MTV, MTV Base, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, and VH1 Classic on the MultiChoice-owned digital pay-TV platform.

"We are delighted to partner with MultiChoice to strengthen our kids and family, and general entertainment offering in Africa. Nick Jr., Nicktoons and BET International provide the perfect complement to our existing entertainment, music, comedy, and kids and family channels," said Alex Okosi, senior vice president & managing director, VIMN Africa.

Nick Jr., which is aimed at pre-school children from three to five years old, includes shows such as Dora the Explorer, Bubble Guppies, Go, Diego, Go! and Paw Patrol. Nicktoons is offers programming for children aged four to nine, with animated shows such as The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, T.U.F.F. Puppy, Back to the Barnyard, Avatar, Fanboy & Chum Chum, Rugrats and The Wild Thornberrys.

BET International is general entertainment channel for those aged between 16 and 49, 'providing viewers with what's hot, what's next and what matters' in black culture. Key programmes include The Wendy Williams Show, Being Mary Jane, Real Husbands of Hollywood, The BET Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, BET Honors, 106 & Park, Sunday Best, Comic View and Vindicated. inShare0
