CNN Indonesia, the joint venture between Turner Broadcasting and PT Trans Media Corp, has ordered 80 Streambox mobile video devices.

The technology, which is designed to provide live TV over cellular networks, will encompass Streambox Avenir Mini IP network bonding encoders with GPS capabilities, providing real time location services via the Streambox Cloud for CNN’s coordinated breaking news.
“We were looking for a complete solution with a long history of providing high performance and high quality,” said Johnny Yeung, technical director, CNN Indonesia.
“Streambox met all of our requirements for our mission critical broadcast needs and we are excited about bringing a world-class 24-hour news channel to Indonesia,” he added.
Bob Hildeman, CEO, Streambox said: “We are pleased that CNN Indonesia chose us to provide the mobile newsgathering solutions and backend infrastructure for their network. We have over a decade of experience supporting other CNN operations and likely that history of success played into the decision to use Streambox solutions.”
