One year after its launch and supported by 2.5 million users a month, Atresmedia's online TV platform Atresplayer is increasing its supported devices portfolio in Spain by launching on Xbox One, smart TVs and Chromecast.
According to comScore figures, the online player has 2.5 million unique visitors a month and has served 400 million videos. The platform's app is also among the most downloaded of its kind, with almost 3 million downloads in Apple, Android and Windows stores.
Although the growing online TV market is very competitive in Spain, Atresplayer has 1.5 million registered users and has been the most-used TV platform on computers since the beginning of 2014. According to the group, the platform's main hooks are its HD features, the ability to watch the original version of content with subtitles, plus the ability to download content and watch it offline.
Most programmes from Antena 3, laSexta, Neox and Nova (the group's DTT channels) are available online, including some of the latest blockbusters such as The Time in Between and Old Bridge's secret, which have conquered both Spanish and international audiences.
Due to the wide video-on-demand (VOD) programming and the technical features, Atresmedia has improved the figures of its former online service Modo Salón, increasing the traffic by 40%. inShare0
