"By adding Outlander to Claro Video's offer we are delivering one of the most acclaimed series to our subscribers," explained Pablo Iacoviello, acquisitions VP at DLA, Claro Video's operator. "This kind of series complements our offer and enables us to deliver a solid product to the Latin American audience."

"Premium content is the key for the digital video platforms' development," added Alexander Marín, distribution VP for Latin America at Sony Pictures Television.

The Outlander agreement follows one reached last week for Amazon Studios' productions, through which Alpha House, Betas and Mozart In the Jungle will be also going to the OTT platform.

The agreement covers subscribers in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Dominican Republic.

Claro Video, which offers OTT video-on-demand (VOD) content, belongs to América Móvil, Latin America's largest telco, and leads the online video market in most countries in the region.
