Offering full HD live and video-on-demand (VOD) content, Spain's Orange TV app is to arrive on Samsung smart TVs, aiming to draw more subs to its multiscreen pay-TV platform.
orangesamsungAs a part of a plan to re-launch Orange TV which has been going on for a year, the French telco intends to conquer other slots in the competitive Spanish pay-TV market, in which the platform didn't manage to attract much more than 100,000 subs since it started broadcasting in 2006.
Through a free app, all the Samsung smart screens produced since 2012 — including the curved Ultra HD series — could be connected through Orange's pay-TV service, enabling the viewers to watch regular packages, premium channels and VOD content, including the Disney Movies On Demand service,
The Canal+ Liga and Series premium networks will also be available at Orange TV , to be joined by the new signals for sports, music and Latin entertainment — Sportmanía, 40TV and Caracol TV — and Orange Arena, the exclusive Orange channel with Spain's basketball league ACB programming.
As a promotional movement, the Orange app can be also downloaded for those who are not subscribers, enabling them to look through the catalogue, explore the platform and watch many on-demand trailers.
